This is a journey for the healer within all of us. It will help you connect with your power within, and to heal aspects of you that may be holding you back from living a fuller, more connected life . The tour will be facilitated by Frank Ansell www.frankansell.com, who is a traditional medicine man from the Arrente tribe of Alice Springs, and co-facilitated by Psychotherapist, Andrew Leitch www.andrewleitch.com.au. This journey is about reconnecting to the land and through this, to ourselves, and to explore ourselves in a deeper way by using nature as a mirror. It is a 8 day tour, which includes 4 days out in the bush of the McDonnell Ranges and 3 days exploring Uluru and Kata Tjuta
At Spirit Adventure Tours, we feel that there is a great need for men and women to be able to explore and to understand themselves in ways that our everyday life may not allow us to do.With us, this inner journey is facilitated in a safe and supported environment at your own pace and rhythm. Great care is taken to hold a sacred and safe space, so that the exploration can be as fulfilling as possible. In today’s fast paced society there is often little time for reflection and understanding of what it is we truly want and desire from our lives. This trip will provide the time and space to reflect and look deep inside to find the hidden jewels of self.
Outline of the trip :
After spending a night in Alice Springs, we will drive east, around ninety kilometres, to Trefina Gorge in the McDonnell Ranges. On the way, we will stop at a few of the sacred sites, such as Emily’s Gap and Corroboree Rock. Here, we will allow ourselves to drop into the different space and time that exists in these magical places. During the four day camping adventure that follows, Frank will offer healings, sacred rituals and and facilitate a deeper sense of connection to the land and self. Frank brings with him all the knowledge and wisdom that, a culture with 40 000 years of connection with the earth can offer. Each part of the journey will unfold in accordance with nature and our connection with her. Andrew will help provide some framework and support and look at ways of integrating the work so that it makes sense and has meaning in our everyday life. Upon completion of the trip each person will have a deeper connection to themselves and nature, and will have worked through some issues that may have been holding them back from stepping into their fuller bigger self.
An important aspect of this trip will be the work done around the campfire in the evenings. For thousands of years, men and women have sat around fires, dreaming and wondering. Fire is the alchemist’s tool of creation, and we will use fire to help find the creative and powerful energies that may currently lay dormant within. This work is designed especially to reach inside and find parts that you may have been trying to access, but are unsure of how to do this. We set our camp around the fire, so you will be able drift into sleep looking at a sky bursting with the Milkyway, listening to stories, feeling the warmth of the fire, as people have done for countless generations.
We spend the 4 days in the MacDonnell ranges camping. There are tents provided for those who wish and for those who feel a little more adventurous full swags will be available. Imagine falling asleep in a warm and cosy swag while losing yourself in the Milky Way!!
During the four days, a deep connection will be made amongst the members of the group and friendships may be formed that will last a lifetime.
Uluru
After our time in the McDonnell Ranges , we will drive to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata-tjuta (the Olgas). This is the literal heart of Australia. Each of these places holds its own special energy, and we will be able to spend a full day exploring the unique qualities of each. This part of the trip will be led by Andrew, and will focus on connection with these two power places and what they mean for each of us individually. These two breathtaking rock formations are literally at the centre of our continent and hold the heart and soul of our land. They are truly life changing in the energies that they hold.
We will drive from Alice Springs to Uluru on the afternoon of the 21st it is about a 5 hr drive through some spectacular countryside. Arriving early evening at Yalara, we will have the option of staying in the 5 star Sails in the Desert resort, http://www.ayersrockresort.com.au/sails/ (for a small extra charge) or the very comfortable and more relaxed Out back Pioneer hotel,http://www.ayersrockresort.com.au/outback/. After our 4 days of camping, the luxuries of a resort will be even more pleasurable.
The next morning, we will witness the sunrise over Uluru. One of the most magnificent spectacles imaginable. We will then spend the day exploring the different facets of Uluru. The morning will be devoted to understanding the way that the indigenous people understand this sacred place. We will hear the stories that exist in the Aboriginal culture from a member of the Anangu Tribe. The afternoon will be spent on a journey of self-exploration using the energies of the rock to delve deeply into our own lives.
Day 2 will follow the same outline, but this time at Kata-tjuta, in basic terms Uluru holds a very strong feminine energy, and KataTjuta the Masculine. We will explore the differences in these places and how that translates into our lives. These places will help us discover a more balanced state between the masculine and the feminine within us.
Day 3 we will again focus on Uluru and drop a little deeper into the connection with her. Throughout the time at Uluru will will discover just some of the many facets of this incredible place. There are many waterholes and sacred places we will stop at and take in all there is to offer.
